After graduating from fashion school, I worked as a window dresser and visual merchandiser for several fashion brands. Later, I became a stylist at a large home interior store. A few years ago, I left that path behind to focus full-time on creating art — something that truly fuels my creativity.
With MAROÚ, a long-held dream is finally coming to life: becoming a fashion designer.
Within our company, I’m mainly the hands-on force — ensuring that every blazer is constructed with care and quality. Together with my daughter, I also help select fabrics and source vintage blazers that form the foundation of our pieces.
With MAROÚ, I want to make a difference and contribute to circular fashion. It’s crucial that the way we buy and sell clothing changes — because fashion is not disposable.

Fashion has always been a part of me, a constant thread running through my life since childhood. Even as a little girl, I wanted to wear clothes no one else had. I could picture exactly what I wanted, how it should look and feel, but it never existed in stores.
Luckily, I have a mother who could bring those ideas to life. With her sewing machine and incredible eye for detail, she created pieces just for me, perfectly tailored to my body and personality. Those pieces made me feel confident, and unique.
Clothing has the power to make you shine. It reflects who you are without saying a word. That belief stayed with me as I later worked in different fashion stores, where I truly enjoyed helping people walk out the door with a great outfit and a genuine smile.
A unique garment can do more than just complete your look, it can lift your mood, spark a memory, or even change your day.
The Story Behind MAROÚ The Label
With MAROÚ the Label, we want to show that fashion doesn’t have to come at the cost of the planet. There’s already so much clothing in the world, we don’t need more to feel good in what we wear. Instead, there’s beauty in what already exists: high-quality pieces waiting to be reimagined into something new.
The idea began when I was looking for a special blazer to wear to work. I wanted something unique not mass-produced, not cheap-looking, and definitely not something everyone else was wearing. But I couldn’t find it anywhere.
So, I turned to my mother.
She’s always been able to create magic with her sewing machine. I asked her to upcycle an old blazer I had, using a fabric I had fallen in love with. The result was everything I had imagined, elegant, personal, and truly one of a kind.
That moment sparked something:
Why don’t we do this for other women too?
With our shared love for clothing and a desire to offer an alternative to fast fashion, we started creating unique blazers together. Each piece carries our mother-daughter touch, designed with care, crafted with intention.
At MAROÚ The Label we work on a small scale. We don’t produce in bulk. We create only one of a kind pieces, sometimes custom, always with purpose. That way, every blazer is made for someone who couldn’t find what they were looking for in the shops:
A woman who wants to feel confident, original, and completely herself.
